Paul Diamond

About Paul

Paul started his DJ career at the age of 13 years old, spinning records and playing 8 tracks at a skating rink in Johnson City, TN. He knew at an early age he had a passion for creating excitement and entertaining people.

Paul’s passion for entertainment didn’t stop there. He met Tim and Mike Riddle, who introduced him to a unique style of DJing, by creating energy and engaging the crowd to become part of the event or party.

Paul DJed his first wedding at the age of 17 and never looked back. He worked for Riddle Sound Development until meeting Jim Larkin while studying Broadcast and Communications at East Tennessee State University. In 1990, Jim introduced him to the art of using lighting to create the right environment for the party or event. Jim also expanded Paul’s interest in understanding the art of creating the right sound for the right size room.

Paul graduated from ETSU in 1992 and went to work for the Showtime Booking Agency. Paul began promoting, managing, booking, and designing lighting concepts for the top touring bands in the country at the time. In 1994, Paul moved on to be a National Promotions Manager for Budweiser.

It was at a WBF (World Boxing Federation) event that same year when a once in a lifetime opportunity came Paul’s way. Promoter Ron Scalf was in need of a Ring Announcer at the last minute, due to a cancellation of the scheduled announcer. The tuxedo fit, and it was a nationally televised event. The rest is history.

Paul brought the high energy approach he learned from the Riddles to the ring. Paul was hired and became the permanent announcer for WBF, doing events all over the world. He quickly caught the attention of wrestling promoters locally and throughout the southeast. He was approached to do regional events for WCW in Atlanta.

Paul now had a unique opportunity to entertain in front of millions of people live and via Pay-Per-View. However, he never lost touch with his desire and passion for DJing weddings and events. Paul kept a great balance between the two. In 2000, he partnered with Steve House to form Cotton Eyed Joe’s Mobile Entertainment in Knoxville, TN. Paul became known as one of the best country club DJs in the country, while he also continued to create high-end wedding productions.

Paul then expanded to open Diamond Entertainment in Cookeville, TN in 2001. He also continued to DJ special events at one of the Nation’s largest country clubs, the 27,000 sq ft Cotton Eyed Joe’s. In 2002, Paul began putting 100% of his focus on building his wedding/DJ business, giving clients a new and exciting option for their events.

In 2007, Paul began putting all focus on the concept of 5DiamondProductions. He wanted to create a company where a bride could get assistance in planning the perfect wedding, including lighting effects, to create a magical experience with an energetic EMCEE. Paul recognized that most DJs are unemployed weekend warriors who truly do not have a passion for creating that magical moment for a bride. With 5DiamondProductions, a bride doesn’t have to worry if her DJ is going to show up intoxicated for an event, have equipment breaking down, or given false promise and expectations.

5 Diamond Productions also pioneered Skype wedding client meetings and wedding delayed broadcast through YouTube for guests who couldn’t be present. 5DiamondProductions and its sister companies CookevilleDJ.net, and PhotoboothCookeville.com have set the standard for high event productions throughout the southeast.
